As a Pilates teacher, you’re already dedicated to helping clients move better, feel stronger, and live healthier lives. But what happens when a client walks into your studio carrying invisible burdens—stress, trauma, or anxiety—that affect their ability to fully engage with movement?

Trauma-Informed Pilates isn’t about changing the exercises—it’s about how you approach and guide your clients. It’s about creating a space where every individual feels safe, seen, and supported.

By integrating trauma-informed care into your teaching, you can:

  • Build deeper trust with your clients, fostering long-term relationships.
  • Adapt movements to meet the unique physical and emotional needs of each person.
  • Empower clients to reconnect with their bodies in a way that feels safe and affirming.

Whether you work with clients recovering from injuries, navigating stress, or simply seeking a mindful practice, trauma-informed care allows you to show up as the teacher they need—compassionate, knowledgeable, and confident.

This program is designed specifically for Pilates professionals like you, giving you the tools and strategies to meet your clients where they are while elevating your impact as a teacher.

Reimagining Pilates Through a Trauma-Informed Lens

Trauma-informed Pilates goes beyond movement—it’s a teaching approach rooted in understanding, empathy, and adaptability. At its core, it acknowledges how trauma and stress affect the body and mind, shaping the way people experience movement and connection.

Trauma-informed care doesn’t require you to be a therapist or know every detail of a client’s story. Instead, it equips you with tools to cultivate safety, encourage self-awareness, and support clients in reclaiming their connection to their bodies—on their terms.

By understanding and implementing trauma-informed principles, you’re offering an experience that honors the whole person—body, mind, and spirit.

By Module 1, I already learned more than I expected to, without it being overwhelming. The program was structured so that it was motivating and easy to complete. It gave me the science behind using a Trauma-Informed Approach and the mind-body connection. I am more confident than ever that and my clients feel more empowered too.

- Amy

Before there was no program to explain how to make classes more inclusive to those who deal with trauma. After the course, I feel more confident than ever.

- Yera

It was so valuable that I had the other Pilates teachers who work at my studio enroll in the course. I would recommend TIPA to any Pilates teacher or studio owner.

Meet Your Teacher Trainer:
Beth Sandlin

Hi, I’m Beth. With over 20 years of experience teaching Pilates,  understanding trauma has completely transformed the way I teach. Once I began to explore trauma-informed care, I shifted my approach to create safer, more empowering experiences—not just for my clients, but for myself as a teacher. The more I learned, the clearer it became how essential these principles are to truly inclusive teaching.

I’ve been teaching through a trauma-informed lens since 2012 and launched the Trauma-Informed Pilates Approach (TIPA) in 2019 to share this transformative framework with other Pilates teachers. My goal is to help you build client-centered, empowering sessions that make a meaningful difference.
